kindgott
The first single to be released from Das Ich's excellent Egodram CD, Kindgott features three entirely different mixes of the title track, as well as a new mix of their classic Gott Ist Tot. Where as the original version of Kindgott is straightforward dance piece; the Childhood mix is slower paced and less dense. The Extended Version not only stretches the original out over a period of 5 minutes, but there are also a few new sounds added in, giving this track a live of it's own.

Das Ich have always amazed me with their approach to electronically based music. In the past they've wavered between more lyrically structured pieces to smart instrumentals to hard, edgy dance music. Kindgott falls into the later category, as it seems to have built for the dance floor. The Nietzsche Mix of Gott Ist Tot is comprised of rolling beats, rough and distorted rhythms, and Stefan's unique and crisp vocals. This, along with the full length, might be a good place to start if you have yet to experience the wonders of Das Ich.

destillat
Here in Orlando, Florida Destillat is a huge club hit, and for good reason. Have you heard this song yet? Well, if not, go out as soon as you possibly can and get this single, as well as any other Das Ich material you can get your grubby little hands on. Destillat features 3 mixes of the title track and one mix of Chroma, which is another track also found on Egodram. Destillat has a pounding rhythm, thick beat, aggressive synth lines, and shared male/female vocals. The manner in which this track was constructed makes you see why it's no wonder Zillo picked it as one of the major club hits of 1998.
The X-tended Version seems to be a mixture between the Club Version and the original. This mix has the harder, dance elements of the Club version as well as the creepy synth intrusions of the original. The Soldano Version of Chroma features a gritty guitar mixed in with the catastrophic beats, chaotic sequences, and angst-ridden vocals. Destillat will most likely be one of those songs that go down in electro history as being a classic.
